Parks and Reserves

Palmerston North has a wide variety of parks and reserves for public use from the large City Reserves which are the jewels in the crown to sports grounds, walkways and many small neighbour hood reserves.

A great variety of activities can be held on these spaces from a family picnic to community events.

Maintaining the parks, reserves and sportsfields of Palmerston North

• We maintain many hectares of sports fields, including some used for national tournaments.
• We keep natural and synthetic playing surfaces in good condition.
• We provide maintenance and administration for three cemeteries and a crematorium.
• We replace play equipment in Palmerston North playgrounds.
• Urban parks are kept safe and tidy for residents to enjoy.
