I am fortunate to be the Chief Executive of a wonderful City that’s on the move.
My management style is to give the team the tools to do their job and to provide an environment where staff can talk through issues and celebrate their successes within a supportive team.
I am passionate about living and working in Palmerston North and contributing to the community through my job.
Others describe my management style as approachable, honest and open. I try to work in such a manner, whereby staff are empowered to do their jobs.
I have a passionate belief in serving people and the community through public librarianship.
The position I hold is that of Chief Financial Officer which I have held since Feb 2008.
With the breadth of issues and long term focus, I consider my job is diverse, interesting, and can make a positive contribution to the future of Palmerston North.
My goal is to provide opportunities for my staff to develop and grow, and take responsibility for what they do whilst enjoying the stimulation of working for an organisation that is exciting, innovative and progressive.
In Human Resources our goal is to improve organisational performance through developing staff to reach their potential.
My communication philosophy is being transparent, asking why and what does it mean and putting myself in the place of a resident or ratepayer to determine what they need to know and delivering.
