Identifying itself as a place to inspire people to explore the
pathways to the world, the Living Room of the City is more than
just books. The libraries provide access to the latest technology
such as 3D printing and GoPros, online services such as national
and international e-magazines and newspapers, DVDs, games, and free
Wifi within our premises.
In cooperation with community groups they organise film
festivals, talks and information programmes and reach out to the
community by providing free computer access and wifi services for
children from low income families.
The Community Services team are another facet of the Living Room
of the City. With services covering the Maori and Pacifica
community, City Safety, Arts and Culture, ethnic community support,
support for senior citizens, housebound services and Student City,
this team is entirely dedicated to enhance community involvement
and community wellbeing.
