Fixing the ground damage at Manawaroa Park
The park suffered a lot of ground damage this winter, with boggy playing fields caused by heavy rain and poor drainage. The entire park was closed and spiked to promote rapid drying and we're happy to report it's now open again. However there are still some isolated areas where old tree stumps have rotted and collapsed in the wet, causing the ground around them to slump. These areas cannot be used, but are well marked and will not affect play. We'll pull a mole plough through them when we're able to get enough traction, and their repair will take place progressively as the soil dries out. Please be aware that because we're continuing to get regular rain and poor drying conditions, we cannot give a timeframe for full reparation.
