Following the successful instalment of the six metre Eagles Nest and three new trampolines, the playground will undergo various earthworks involving heavy machinery, large trucks and parts of the playground will be unavailable for use.
"It's exciting to see the progress at the playground and we are getting a lot of positive feedback from parents," Nicki Hanna, leisure assets officer said.
Excavation work will start on the barbeque area, replacement of the cobble path and lime chip areas. The upgrade of the senior fort structure and the junior shade sail will start beginning of May.
Nicki says the junior playground will be accessible throughout April. "However, we advise school groups and holiday programmes to avoid the playground while the trucks and machinery are working in the area.
"While the Council will do everything possible to ensure the safety of the public, we urge parents and the public to exercise extreme caution should they choose to visit."
