Palmerston North residents will shortly be receiving their dog registrations in the mail.
This year for the first time, once forms for the registration year have been received, dog owners can re-register their pets online with the introduction of an online 'real-time' credit/debit card payment service. The new service allows residents to pay dog registrations, parking infringements and other invoices, such as building and resource consent fees, by Visa or MasterCard.
Dog owners are also able to pay their registration by Internet banking and details can be found at pncc.govt.nz.
"If your dog or puppy is being registered for the first time you will need to come in and see us in person," Wayne Jameson, head of environmental protection services said. "However, if it's a case of the dog owner wanting to re-new their dog registration, we've made it a very simple process for dog owners."
All dog owners must register their dogs by 1 July every year, or before a puppy turns three months old.
