Friday July 1 2016

Palmerston North City Council contractors will start work next week on installing a new stormwater pipe along Ferguson Street from Linton Street to Fitzherbert Avenue.

The 1350mm diameter stormwater pipe will significantly improve the capacity of the storm water network.

The work will commence on Monday 4 July at Linton Street and is scheduled to take eight weeks to complete. This timeframe may be extended depending on the weather.

To minimise disruptions the work has been scheduled during the school holidays and the contractor, Higgins, will be installing new ducts for Powerco and Inspire Net at the same time.

Residents can expect to experience some minor traffic delays and access through to Ferguson Street from Linton Street may be restricted at times.

Local businesses in the area have been informed of the work.
