"How we deal with wastewater is an important issue for our city and has a significant impact on the health of our river," says Robert van Bentum, Water & Waste Services Manager at Palmerston North City Council.

"The forum was a great opportunity to learn about current trends and best practices in wastewater treatment, and to start thinking about the best options for Palmerston North as we look to the future."

The one-day event featured guest speakers from the USA, Australia and New Zealand, as well as two panel discussions with questions from the floor. Attendees included Councillors and decision makers from local and regional Councils, technical staff from local Councils, community group and iwi representatives as well as members of the public.
