Fees and charges for most building services will increase by approximately 1.6% from 1 July 2017. A number of new fees and charges will be implemented to recover the costs the Council will incur to meet the legislative requirements of the Building (Earthquake-prone Building) Amendment Act 2016. These new fees will be charged once the new legislation enabling them becomes operative – this date, which will be after 1 July 2017, has yet to be determined.
Burial and Cremation
Fees and charges for most burial and cremation services will increase by approximately 1.6% from 1 July 2017.

Dog registration fees
Dog registration fees are imposed under the Dog Control Act and are necessary to recover the cost to the Palmerston North City Council of providing animal control services.
The Council charges a fixed fee (GST inclusive), as shown below, to cover the standard cost to Council in undertaking the work listed. However, additional charges may be charged depending on the circumstances such as additional inspection fees that may be incurred in undertaking the work noted below.
