Notice of 2016 elections for Palmerston North City Council

Nominations have now closed for the 2016 Palmerston North City Council elections. As the number of nominations received exceeds the number of vacancies, elections will be held as listed below on Saturday 8 October 2016.

These elections will be conducted by postal voting. Voting will open on Friday 16 September 2016 and will close at 12 noon on Saturday 8 October 2016. 

Election of mayor

One required

This election will be conducted under the Single Transferable Voting electoral system.

Enrolment and special voting arrangements

Palmerston North residents who are not listed on the final electoral roll for these elections can enrol by calling 0800 ENROL NOW (0800 36 76 56), visiting the Elections website or obtaining enrolment forms at PostShops, the Council, or any branch of the City Library, up to 4pm on Friday 7 October 2016.

Palmerston North City Council ratepayers who are not listed on the final electoral roll for these elections can obtain enrolment forms at the Council, or any branch of the City Library, up to 4pm on Friday 7 October 2016.

Special voting facilities for these elections will be available from the Council Customer Service Centre, 32 The Square, Palmerston North during normal office hours between Friday 16 September and Friday 7 October 2016 and from 8am to 12noon on Saturday 8 October 2016.
