The Waste Minimisation plan was adopted by Council in November 2006, and was updated in 2009. The emphasis of the plan is to reduce the percentage of disposed waste and increase the amount of reused, recovered and recycled material from 30% to 50% by 2012.

Rubbish will be collected on the day indicated for your area of
the city, except when your collection day falls on either Easter
Friday or Christmas (Xmas) Day in which case the rubbish will be
collected the following Saturday.
