The Palmerston North Youth Space is a welcoming, safe, alcohol and drug free facility for teens to call their own. It is somewhere to find inspiration, be creative, socialise and equip yourself with the tools and skills needed to help teens live life to the fullest.
The facility opened in September 2011, building on a feasibility
study showing a need and desire for a new youth facility in the
central city.
The target audience is aged 13-19 years of age. Spearheaded by
the Palmerston North City Council, the facility not only caters for
the needs of local young people, but also involved them in its
development. Youth Council consulted with their peers to help
shape their new space into a positive place to spend time and
explore opportunities for social and personal
development.
