Palmerston North is a great place to live, work and play. My family and I moved to New Zealand from England in 2003. We have watched our children grow up in a friendly vibrant City, with great schools and lots of leisure and sporting opportunities.
I have worked for PNCC since coming to New Zealand in 2003. My job is to make sure safe clean drinking water reaches the town's network of pipes, manage the resources to achieve this and to ensure our wastewater is treated to a high standard and complies with all the regulated consent conditions before being discharged into the environment. I supervise a dedicated team of operators, who work hard to achieve what most of us take for granted - that water will come out of the tap, and that our sewage will disappear when we flush!!
I also sit on the committee for the national operations group - Water Industry Operations Group of NZ (WIOG). This means that knowledge sharing, industry standards, training and best practices are current and at the forefront of our industry.
PNCC is a great place to work and the water industry is a rewarding and interesting career choice.
