Palmerston North City Council intends to grant three easements over Council Reserve land.
Powerco Ltd. have applied for these easements in order to run additional electrical cabling to increase Palmerston North’s electrical supply capability. Two easements are over small portions of the Dittmer Reserve. The third easement is planned to go along the southern border of Victoria Esplanade, beginning at the entrance to the Holiday Park, and going up the back of the Lido to come out on Park Road.
Notice is hereby given pursuant to s48(2) and s(119) of the Reserves Act 1977 (‘the Act’) that Palmerston North City Council (’Council’) intends to grant three electrical services easements to Powerco, Ltd. The purpose of the easements is to legalise pursuant to s48 (1) (d) of the Act the right to install, operate and maintain an electrical installation or work as defined in section 2 of the Electricity Act 1992.
Council is the Administering Body of the 4.5780ha Dittmer and the 55.0300ha Victoria Esplanade Reserves. Dittmer Reserve is legally described as Lot 347 DP 32897 Recreation Reserve. Victoria Esplanade is legally described as PT Lot 2 DP77988.
As provided for under s(120) of the Act any person or organisation has the right to make a submission objecting (or otherwise) to the proposal to grant the easements. Any such party will also have the opportunity to speak to their submissions at a Council meeting if they wish.
