It is proposed that the draft Urban Fire Control Bylaw will replace fire control provisions in the current Nuisance Bylaw. These provisions are largely unchanged, and the proposed Bylaw will continue to require a permit for open air fires lit in the urban area (with exceptions for gas-fired BBQs and ethnic cooking fires).
The proposed Bylaw also adopts the Administration Manual which the Council has adopted for other recently reviewed bylaw. The Administration Manual includes such matters as terms and conditions for permits, application forms, maps, and other technical matters.
