With several major community events coming up in the next few weeks, eventgoers will be able to have their say on what types of events they like and want to see more of in Palmerston North.

Head of Events, Luke McIndoe, says we’re currently reviewing our Community Events Programme and are wanting to hear from eventgoers.

“Our annual Community Events Programme outlines what kinds of events we deliver and how much is spent on each event. Part of this review means we’re asking the public what they like about the community events we hold and what they’d like to see more of.”

We’re proud to fund and support so many amazing events for our community, including the Festival of Cultures, Waitangi Day, Explore Esplanade Day, Anzac Day, Diwali Festival and many more. The review will look into how much value each event and their components add, as well as how we go about allocating $604,000 to the annual programme of events.

“We also want to hear from you if you’ve been to any awesome community events elsewhere and would like to see them here in Palmy.”

Feedback will be collected through an online survey and at our information tent at upcoming events.

Attendees at this public event may be recorded by Palmerston North City Council, or its contractors, including drone footage.

Images and audio visual recordings of the event may be published for promotional activities, by the Council or one of its affiliated partners.
