Anzac Day 2020
This year's services – including the national services at Pukeahu and Atatürk Memorials – didn't go ahead due to the restrictions in place in response to Covid-19.
It was the first time since Anzac Day services began in 1916 that New Zealanders weren't able to gather nationwide to mark the anniversary. Instead, people found other ways to remember and honour all those who served and are still serving New Zealand in conflict and peacekeeping.
Read a letter to the people of Palmerston North from Mayor Grant Smith, Wiremu Te Awe Awe, Wing Commander Peter Hurly and Lieutenant Colonel (Rtd) Joe Hollander.
