Palmerston North City Council has strict bylaws around where, when and how alcohol is consumed in different areas of the city. These bylaws exist to make sure that alcohol is sold and consumed responsibly to protect both people and property, and ensure everyone can enjoy a night out in the city.
Alcohol Control Bylaw
Everyone enjoys a night out from time to time. This bylaw relates to the consumption, possession and bringing of alcohol in a public place, and makes sure that a night out isn’t spoiled by public nuisance and offensive behaviour caused by public intoxication.
