What the fund is for
This annual grant scheme is available for not for profit groups and organisations. It's a great opportunity to develop new activities and initiatives that can make a real difference in Palmerston North.
The fund supports new ideas, particularly those which:
- develop, provide and advocate for services and facilities that create a connected, welcoming and inclusive community
- ensure the city has a healthy community where everyone has access to healthy, safe and affordable housing and neighbourhoods
- build community capacity to take ownership and encourage community leadership of solutions, including better coordination between community organisations and groups
- are aligned with Council's goal of Palmerston North becoming a city where people feel safe and are safe.
The Network of Skilled Migrants Manawatū is among the groups that have previously received funding, which also includes:
How to apply
Before you can be considered for a grant, you’ll need to submit an expression of interest (EOI) via SmartyGrants. We’ll ask you to provide a summary of your project and demonstrate how it aligns to the Local Initiatives Fund (LIF) guidelines. This can be written, or alternatively, you can provide a 60 second video. Once we receive your EOI, the Committee will assess your project’s suitability for the LIF.
If the committee is happy with your EOI then they’ll invite you to formally apply for the funding.
If there are any questions regarding your EOI, the Community Development Team may be in touch to give advice on how your expression of interest can better meet the funding criteria. We can also give advice on whether this fund is for you and answer any questions you may have before you submit your expression of interest. Please contact Brooke Carter on 06 356 8199 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Submit your expression of interest using the link below, which will open a page on our SmartyGrants community funding website.
