Submissions close Tuesday 4 June 2019
Council reviews fees and charges every year to ensure there is sufficient revenue to cover increases in operational costs and to satisfy the requirements of Council’s Revenue and Financing policy. In some cases there are specific bylaws which also need to be satisfied.
It is proposed the new fees and charges will take effect from 1 July 2019.
The changes to the various volume based charges for tradewaste reflect the tradewaste volumes and costs for the 24 months to 31 December 2018 and are based on formulae contained in the Palmerston North Waste Bylaw. Administrative charge increases for tradewaste reflect the second stage of increases advised last year.
Most fixed charges and deposits for planning and miscellaneous services will not increase but charges based on hourly chargeout rates are proposed to increase by approximately 3%.
