Council seeks new committee members to administer community funding

Tuesday April 7 2020

Palmerston North City Council is calling for expressions of interest from people to administer our Local Initiatives Fund.

The Local Initiatives Fund is an annual grants scheme providing start-up funding to help community groups and not for profit organisations get their projects off the ground. Initiatives must be unique, innovative, and address an issue of community concern in Palmerston North.

We are looking for people who have business acumen and knowledge, experience and insight of the Palmerston North community and its needs.

Successful candidates will determine which initiatives are successfully funded, under the criteria outlined in our Community Funding Policy.

Committee members must be available to attend meetings for up to three funding rounds each year. This includes reading and assessing applications online and attending meetings to determine funding allocation, review previous funding rounds, and plan for the next.

We are looking for people who can commit to one to three years on the committee.

Committee candidates should submit a letter of interest explaining your background and interest in the Palmerston North community, and what you can bring to the committee.

Please email your letter to PNCC Community Funding Coordinator, Brooke Carter at brooke.carter@pncc.govt.nz by Monday 20 April 2020.

Applications will be considered by the funding allocation panel and the successful candidates will be notified.
