Council & City

United in recovery

The Palmerston North Emergency Operations Centre ended its response to the Covid-19 pandemic on 29 May 2020, marking the transition into a period of recovery.

A Palmerston North Recovery Plan is in place, and we are working with regional and local partners to action it. The plan sets out how the city will deliver on its long-term goals and bounce back by building on its strengths and responding creatively to the current challenges.

Sandra King has been appointed as PNCC’s Recovery Manager and will action the projects and activities in the plan, as well as leading Council’s funding applications.

During our recovery, we will work with the government, the wider community, partners, and a wide range of other stakeholders, continue to collect and evaluate information, and address immediate needs in the city while seeking any opportunities that will aid our recovery.
