Ensuring food safety in alert level 3

Thursday April 23 2020

As we move to Covid-19 alert level 3, many more businesses will be able to get back to making and selling food. Our environmental health team has put together links to some helpful advice.

The alert level 3 rules mean that businesses that want to start operating will only be able to offer takeaway, contactless pick-up and delivery options.

Making your business safe

Before taking any steps to start operating again, you first need to make sure that your business is allowed to operate under alert level 3.

All business operating under alert level 3 need to have a Covid-19 safety plan that sets out how you’ll operate safely.

Opening your business

Before reopening, please check the latest advice on the Ministry for Primary Industries website:

If you want to talk to someone about operating your food business during alert level 3, please contact Council’s environmental health team. Email eps@pncc.govt.nz or phone 06 356 8199.
