Our call centre is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Kerbside collection
We'll be collecting all your rubbish and recycling as usual over the holiday period, except for Christmas Day. If your normal collection day is a Friday, your collection day this week will move to Saturday 26 December (Boxing Day).
Please remember to have your items out by 7.30am.

Christmas tree collection
Do you have a real tree? Put it out on your kerb on your collection day and we'll take it away and compost it. Christmas tree collection is the week beginning Monday 4 January. Please remove all decorations first!
If you miss your collection, you can take it to Awapuni during January and drop it off free of charge (any accompanying green waste will be charged at the usual rate).
Rubbish and recycling facilities
All our facilities are closed on Christmas Day but are otherwise open. Please note reduced hours on public holidays, listed below:
- Saturday 26 and Monday 28 December
- Friday 1, Saturday 2 and Monday 4 January
We operate Sunday hours on these days: 12pm to 4pm at Awapuni Resource Recovery Park, and 10am to 3pm at Ferguson Street Recycling Centre.

Palmerston North City Library
Wondering when you'll be able to get your library fix over the holidays? Here are the opening hours for all libraries for the Christmas and New Year holiday period. Watch out for some shorter opening hours as well as some extended ones. And don't forget the digital library is always open via the City Library website or app.
Council offices and Customer Service Centre
The Civic Administration Building and Council Service Centre on The Square will be closed from 12pm on Wednesday 23 December. They will reopen on Monday 11 January.
