Council prepares a new 10 Year Plan in consultation with residents every three years and has been consulting on the Plan since 19 March. It is a long term plan, setting out what projects and services Council will deliver for the community, across a decade. It will cover Council activities across 2018-2028.
Mayor Grant Smith says the vision that underpins this 10 Year Plan is ‘small city benefits, big city ambition’.
“This Plan outlines the opportunity the city has right now, identifies key projects to unlock this opportunity, and seeks the community’s feedback,” he says.
“We have now held 12 public sessions on the 10 Year Plan and what a fantastic response we have had. We think our Plan will help us achieve our vision, and from the responses so far, it seems that many of you do too.”
Once the formal consultation period closes on 23 April, Councillors will then consider all submissions including informal feedback provided via its website thebigpicture.pncc.govt.nz and social media comments. Hearings will then be held in May before the Plan is finalised.
“Thank you to everyone who has come on this journey with us so far. We look forward to reporting back again on the final 10 Year Plan in June,” Mayor Smith says.
