We closed the pool in late-July to investigate the pool’s cold temperature. While investigating we discovered some leaks that need to be fixed.
Council Parks and Reserves Manager, Kathy Dever-Tod, says closing the pool means we can conduct a thorough investigation and carry out repairs.
“We know how much Ashhurst loves their pool so we’re working hard to get it fixed asap. We will let you know as soon as we can when it will reopen.”
Splashhurst is getting in touch with people who have swimming lessons. They’ll be offered catch-up lessons in the school holidays, or can transfer them to next term’s lessons. They’ll also be first in line for their chosen lesson time.
Concession cardholders can use their pass at Freyberg or the Lido pools. If people don’t want to travel into the city, their concession cards will be extended to make up for the time the pool has been closed.
Full-time Splashhurst staff are helping with the maintenance or working at Freyberg or the Lido. Part-time staff are also being offered shifts at the other pools.
