Waitangi Day rubbish and recycling

Monday February 4 2019

Our recycling facilities will be open this Waitangi Day, and we're ready to take those things that no longer bring you joy.

Ferguson Street Recycling Centre accepts lots of things for recycling: paper, plastic, glass and tins, used motor oil, and e-waste like batteries, computers, televisions and other household appliances. We'll even take that box of old cables!

Kerbside collections will be operating, so if you normally have Wednesday pick-ups please put your bins out by 7.30am.

The weather forecast is cloudy and rainy, so if you’ve been bingeing Marie Kondo on Netflix then Waitangi Day might be the perfect time to jump on the bandwagon and start tidying up.

Our Awapuni Centre will be open between 12pm and 4pm and can take your green waste and recycling.

Our Ferguson Street Centre will be open from 10am and 3pm on Wednesday and can take your recycling, e-waste, and used motor oil.
