Auahi kore smokefree and vapefree policy review

Council introduced the Smokefree Outdoor Areas Policy in 2013. It was reviewed and amended in 2015, and we’re reviewing it again. Feedback on this consultation closed on Friday 31 July.

Playgrounds are among the smokefree and vapefree areas proposed in the draft policy.

Summary of proposed changes

Our current policy does not include vaping. Should we widen it to include vaping? This would mean encouraging people to refrain from smoking and vaping in public places.

We've also reviewed the list of public places in the policy and have proposed some changes. Have we got this right?
