What’s a one-way door restriction?

A one-way door restriction is a rule that prevents people from entering a licensed premise (such as a bar or tavern) after a given time, while allowing those already on premises to remain there until closing.

Some bars in Palmerston North operate a voluntary one-way door restriction from 2.30am.

Council is proposing to include a mandatory one-way door restriction for any on-licensed premises that are trading past 2am.
