Gloucester Reserve

We're aiming to start work in November to upgrade the children's playground here. Keep an eye on this page for updates.

No dogs around the children's playground. On-leash in the rest of the park.

Playground upgrade

We need to remove most of the playground as it is quite old and no longer up to the safety standards we have for our playgrounds. The climbing frame and swings are more recent and will stay.

We've partnered with Freyberg High School students to design the playground, and recently also consulted the community to help us refine the design.

The revamped playground will include natural play elements, where rocks, planting and other features become part of the playground as children climb on them or touch them. There will also be features for preschoolers as well as older children.

We’re aiming to get construction started in November and have the new playground installed before the summer school holidays begin.
