Playground update: 14 February

We need to remove most of the playground as it is quite old and no longer up to the safety standards we have for our playgrounds.

We consulted late last year. While we’d hoped to install the playground before summer, there were delays in manufacturing.

The new playground includes a skyrail (like a flying fox), a bridge, monkey bars, slide and climbing wall. The current climbing frame and swings are more recent additions to the playground and will remain at the park.

The revamped park will include natural play elements, where logs, rocks, planting and other features become part of the playground as children climb on them or touch them. We’re also installing a soccer goal and picnic table at the reserve.

The old playground will be removed next week, and installation of the new playground starts on Monday 24 February.

The new gear will be ready to play on in late March.
