City-Loop Link

Keen on a longer journey? While this isn't an official connection, we've worked on a route that can get you around our city in a 26km loop.

Linking the Mangaone/Milson Stream with the Manawatū awa, this route traverses residential land, industrial areas, historic Edwards Pit Park, Palmy's oldest cemetery (Terrace End) and the Gas Works Drain. It also follows part of the Te Araroa Trail, a 3,000km walking route connecting Cape Reinga to Bluff which passes through Palmerston North.

The majority of this route is along city streets and footpaths. Dogs must be on leash at all times, except for Edwards Pit Park.

Distance: 5.8km

Surface: City footpaths, limestone, grass, asphalt

Access points: Start or finish at Milson Line and Napier Road

Conveniences: Toilets at Mahanga Kakariki Reserve, Milson Shopping Centre and in the Roslyn Library, off Vogel Street
