Proposed fees and charges for trade waste services

We invite your feedback on proposed updates to fees and charges for trade waste services, effective from 1 July 2018.

Council reviews these fees and charges every year to ensure there is sufficient revenue to cover operational costs, and satisfy the requirements of our Revenue and Financing Policy and the Palmerston North Trade Waste Bylaw.

Some of the proposed fees and charges for trade waste reflect trade waste volumes and costs for the 12 months to 31 December 2017 and are based on formulae contained in the bylaw.

Significant increases are proposed for some of the fixed administrative charges, such as wastewater consent processing and grease trap monitoring. Some of these charges are currently subsidised from rates. We propose to phase in the increases over two years.
