Palmerston North City Council has reviewed its fees and charges for a range of services. These new fees were approved at a Council meeting on 12 February 2025 and will take effect from 1 July 2025.
What's changing
- Environmental health, building, and burial and cremation
Fees will increase by 3% to 3.7%
Adult cremation fees will increase by 6.8%
- Animal impounding
No changes to current fees
- Metered parking
Hourly parking will increase from $2 to $2.50.

Dog registration fees for 2025/26
Dog registration fees are set under the Dog Control Act. These fees help cover the cost of providing animal management services.
