Hokowhitu Lagoon Walk

Hokowhitu Lagoon was once an important fishery for Rangitāne that had a thriving eel population. Nowadays, this place is a hotspot for water sports, or an ideal place to go for a walk with a view. Come on down for an easy outing or stroll.

This conservation waterway and surrounding park is a great place to kayak or picnic.

After a walk along the Lagoon edge, cross the bridge over to one of Palmy's historical landmarks, Caccia Birch House. If you're there when there isn't a function on, it's a beautiful property to stroll around and snap a shot for Instagram. This historic homestead was built in 1895 and is nestled in two hectares of gardens overlooking the Lagoon.
