What activities need approval?

  • Operating a food truck or coffee cart
  • Selling goods such as fresh produce, crafts, or other items

If you’re operating a food truck or coffee cart, you must also register with New Zealand Food Safety. You can find out more about starting a food business and registering on the Ministry for Primary Industries website

Where can you trade?

You can apply to trade at the following locations:

You are welcome to apply to trade at any of our sportsgrounds. Please note, this also requires support from the sports code allocated the grounds.

Fees are different for each vendor

The cost of trading is based on what you’re selling and how long you plan to trade. Additional charges may apply for the site and power (if needed).

Check out our parks and reserves fees to give you a general idea. We'll provide a detailed pricing breakdown after you register your interest.

To make trading fair and safe, we have a few conditions

  • You can’t trade within 100 metres of a similar shop (for example, coffee carts can’t set up next to a café).
  • You must follow District Plan rules. The plan sets the activities allowed in your chosen location.
  • No alcohol sales.
  • All vehicles must meet NZTA standards. You must remove them from the site daily.
