Gloucester Reserve

The playground here includes a skyrail (like a flying fox), a bridge, monkey bars, slide and climbing wall, as well as a climbing frame and swings.

We revamped this park in 2020, with a playground upgrade and natural play elements, where logs, rocks, planting and other features become part of the playground as children climb on them or touch them. We also installed a pathway, soccer goal and picnic table at the reserve.

We chose not to proceed with a basketball court due to the concerns about noise by immediate residents. This is a concern we hear from other residents next to parks that do have hoops. The other contributing factor was that Takaro Park has two full basketball courts, and is just over a 10-minute walk away.
