Trade waste fees and charges

Here are the fees we charge for trade waste, including fixed and variable charges for conditional and consented trade waste discharges.

All fees and charges include GST. Effective 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025.

Administrative charges (fixed)

Trade Waste Charge: Permitted consent	$130 per year	Charge to recover cost of processing new or renewed applications for Permitted customers with grease traps/ oil interceptor/ amalgam traps
Trade Waste Charge: Permitted Tanker consent	$130 per year	Fee to recover cost of processing new or renewed applications for Permitted Tanker customers
Trade Waste Charge: Controlled consent	$650 per application	Charge to recover cost of processing new or renewed applications for Controlled customers with discharges over 5m3 a day
Trade Waste Charge: Conditional consent	$1,700 per application	Charge to recover cost of processing new or renewal applications for Conditional customers
Compliance monitoring: sampling	$250 per sampling and analysis	Fee to recover inspection and monitoring costs of trade premises
Compliance Monitoring: administration	$210 per month	Fee to recover cost of administration from monitoring and analysis of monthly sample results
Re-inspection fee	$210 per inspection	Fee to recover cost of re-inspection of individual trade premises

Volume charge ($ per m3)	$0.694/m3	Charge to recover sewerage collection costs
Suspended solids charge (SS) ($ per kg)	$0.744/kg SS	Charge to recover suspended solids treatment costs
Organic loading charge (BOD) ($ per kg)	$0.71/kg BOD	Charge to recover organic loading treatment costs
Phosphorous charge (DRP) ($ per kg)	$38.805/kg DRP	Charge to recover phosphorous removal costs
