Trade waste fees and charges

Here are the fees we charge for trade waste, including fixed and variable charges for conditional and consented trade waste discharges.

All fees and charges include GST. Effective 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

Administrative charges (fixed)

Trade waste application fee  $1,890 Fee to recover cost of processing new or renewal applications 
Consent processing fee $235 per hour  Fee to recover cost of processing extraordinary applications
Reinspection fee $235 per inspection Fee to recover cost of reinspecting individual trade premises
Trade waste charge: permitted consents for grease traps, oil interceptors and amalgam traps $145 per year Charge to recover administration and monitoring costs of grease traps, oil interceptors and other treatment devices, and amalgam traps at dental surgeries
All other premises (conditional) plus trade waste charges  $1,570 per year  Charge to recover administration and monitoring costs of trade waste consents
Discharge administration fee $725 per year Charge to recover administration and monitoring costs of permitted customers with discharges exceeding 5m3 a day
