Signs and Use of Public Places Bylaw

The Signs and Use of Public Places Bylaw covers how and where signs and other objects can be placed on footpaths, roadside grazing of livestock, and mobile trading in public places.

In September 2019, the Council adopted new guidelines for use of public spaces in Palmerston North.

We updated the election signs section of the bylaw in June 2026. We're aiming to review the rest of the bylaw later this year.

Please email Policy Analyst Stacey Solomon at stacey.solomon@pncc.govt.nz if you have any ideas or feedback on the upcoming review of the wider bylaw.
