Waitangi Day
Next date: Monday, 06 February 2023 | 11:00 AM
to 06:30 PM
Join us at this free and family-friendly event in Te Marae o Hine where we can commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi, acknowledge our history, and learn a bit more about its significance today.
Together with Rangitāne o Manawatū, we invite you all! Bring your friends and whānau and enjoy a FREE community BBQ, activities and stalls, followed by a concert and food trucks in the second half of the day.
The concert will kick off at 3.30pm.
- Anna Coddington, a winner at the 2022 Waiata Māori Music Awards, will be headlining the performances with her mix of pop, soulful, and indie acoustic sounds.
- Māori music collective, IA, will also be taking the stage with their traditional Māori instruments and catchy electronic music.
- Emerging artist from Levin, Te KuraHuia, will too be bringing her multidisciplinary, multicultural and powerful sounds to the stage.
So don’t go away for the long weekend, come spend the day with us – we’ll have all of the fun, storytelling, entertainment and delicious kai you could possibly ask for.
We're after your feedback on our community events and want to know what you like and want to see more of!
This feedback will help us with our review into our Community Events Programme which outlines what kinds of events we deliver and how certain events are funded.
