The Festival of Cultures returns in 2026 with a new line-up of events celebrating the people, food, beverages, music, and traditions that make our city so vibrant.

Multicultural Family Movie Night

Friday 20 February, 6-8.30pm
Te Marae o Hine – The Square

Due to adverse weather, this event has moved from Thursday to Friday 20 February.

We're kicking off this year's celebrations with a special movie night in Te Marae o Hine - The Square.

Bring your chairs or a picnic blanket and settle in to watch the Disney favourite Encanto on the big screen.

There will be couple of food trucks onsite, making it easy to enjoy a relaxed evening out with the whānau.

World Fair

The iconic World Fair returns – a lively celebration of our community’s diversity through food, art, music, dance, games, and more!

Teas and Coffees of the World

Sunday 22 February, 2-5pm
Caccia Birch House

Round off the weekend in style with a relaxing afternoon at Caccia Birch House, sampling a variety of teas, coffees, and other hot drinks from around the world.

This event invites you to explore global traditions and share stories over a warm cuppa.
