Next date: Monday, 14 September 2026 | 01:00 PM - Sunday, 11 October 2026

Young child looking at a treasure hunt activity sheet outdoors.

Get ready to put your reo Māori knowledge to the test this Te Wiki o te Reo Māori.

From 14 September to 11 October, we’ll be hiding 10 kura huna (hidden treasures) around Te Marae o Hine – The Square.

Bring your whānau along and see if you can find them all. Each kura huna has a pātai (question) to answer. Find all 10, complete your answer sheet and you'll go in the draw to win a cool spot prize.

Pick up an answer sheet from:

  • isite Visitor Information Centre
  • your local library
  • Te Manawa Museum of Art, Science and Heritage
  • or download one below

Then head to Te Marae o Hine – The Square anytime between 14 September and 11 October to start searching.

Once you've found all 10 kura huna, return your completed answer sheet to one of the pick-up locations by 11 October.

Rapua te Kura Huna means “in search of the hidden treasures or knowledge”, so keep your eyes open, work together and have fun putting your reo Māori knowledge to the test.

Karawhiua e te whānau! Give it a go!
