Tetra Pak recycling

Two liquid paperboard packages under the sun with a clock tower at the background.

Tetra Pak (also known as liquid paperboard packaging) can be dropped off to Ferguson Street Recycling Centre during opening hours.

Some common items of Tetra Pak include soy and almond milk containers, as well as cartons of juice and stock.

Once you drop off your used cartons and containers, these are collected and sent up to SaveBOARD’s manufacturing plant in Hamilton, where it will be processed. These items are then turned into low-carbon building materials.

How to prepare your Tetra Pak cartons:

  1. Cut along the top and sides of the carton
  2. Open up and flatten
  3. Rinse out and dry

Ferguson Street Recycling Centre opening hours:

  • Monday to Friday 7.30am to 4.30pm
  • Saturday 8am to 4.30pm
  • Sunday and public holidays 10am to 3pm
