Candidate statement

Married to Margaret, together we've raised five adult children. A university graduate and Australasian-trained Actuary, I bring deep expertise in governance, financial oversight, audit, and compliance. My senior management and consulting experience spans both government and private sectors, in New Zealand and internationally.

I offer a wide and varied skillset - an asset to our growing city's critical decision-making. My community service includes roles with the Make-A-Wish Foundation (volunteer and Board), a New Zealand insurance company Board, professional committees, Scouting, animal welfare, and fostering for the SPCA. I'm also a small business owner.

I'm motivated by fairer funding, affordable rates, and being a voice for the disadvantaged. As a businessman who gets things done, I believe council costs must be controlled through innovation and efficiency. I'll work to make our city the preferred home for future generations while honouring those who came before.
