Council adopted some increases to miscellaneous fees, but voted against any increase to planning fees for 2026/27.
We review fees and charges for Council services every year. This enables Council to be satisfied that they are transparent, fair and reasonable, and market comparable.
Following our latest review we proposed:
- an increase in hourly rates by 3.5% to 4.5% to reflect rising costs
- significant increases in some fees where current charges no longer reflect the time and work involved
- changes to some “indicative charges” (the typical or average cost of processing certain applications) listed in the policy.
At its meeting on 8 May 2026, Council adopted some changes to miscellaneous fees. The new fees will come into effect on 1 July 2026. Planning services fees will remain unchanged, with no increases for 2026/27.
