About a dozen teens relaxing at tables outside Youth Space.

School holidays are sorted! Join us at Youth Space for two weeks of creativity, challenges, music, food and fun.

From creative workshops and cooking sessions to karaoke, board game design, storytelling and hands-on crafts, there's something for everyone at Youth Space these July holidays.

Come hang out, meet new people and learn some cool new skills. Most activities are free, all are packed with good vibes, and everyone is welcome.

Tuesday 7 July 1-2pm: Puanga Matariki goal setting with Ashlyn

Make yourself a hot choccy, cozy up and spend some time setting some intentions for the new year.

Youth space staff are here to help you plan your next steps in your journey to reach your aspirations.

Tuesday 7 July 2-4pm: Puanga Matariki mobile making

A real craft session with wire, beads, glitter and hot glue. Create a mobile masterpiece and learn about each of the Matariki Whetū.

Wednesday 8 July 10-4pm and Thursday 9 July 10-5.30pm: Digital storytelling workshop with Birthright NZ

This project aims to celebrate the resilience of Rangatahi in Aotearoa and teach young people how to craft their story and film using accessible technology. Across two exciting days at youth space and the stomach studio, participants will explore storytelling, creativity and confidence-building while learning how to shape their stories through digital media. This is a safe and supportive space for local young people who are open to sharing stories about challenging times, resilience and growth. 

Participants will need to be available both days. Lunch and snacks will be provided

Saturday 11 July 1-4pm: Make your own board game workshop with Luke and Hunter

Craft your own board game world, rules, cards and counters at the youth space.

Snacks provided.

Tuesday 14 July 1-3pm: Draw it without seeing it challenge

Hone your drawing skills with this sketching challenge.

Tuesday 14 July 1-4pm: PJ pant making workshop

Come along, pick a cozy winter fabric and learn to make your own custom PJ pants for this winter.

All materials are provided. Limited places, first-come, first-served.

Wednesday 15 July 1-4pm: Mehndi henna tattoo art with Krithika

Learn about the tradition of Mehndi hand art, and give creating beautiful semi-permanent patterns a go.

All supplies are provided. 

Friday 17 July 1-4pm: Karaoke takeover with Kira

Sing your favourite tune or support others to be brave on stage! 

You can expect disco lights, mics, and good vibes.

Saturday 18 July 1-2.30pm: Cooking with Gabe

Join in and learn how to make cinnamon buns to share with your friends and whānau.
