After consulting with the community, Palmerston North City Council adopted the Waste Management and Minimisation Bylaw 2025 on 3 December 2025.
The new bylaw will come into effect on 1 February 2026. When this happens, the Waste Management and Minimisation Bylaw 2016 will be revoked and replaced by the new bylaw.
