This page explains what the District Licensing Committee does, who’s on it, and how you can find decisions about alcohol licences in Palmerston North.

The District Licensing Committee considers all alcohol licence applications in Palmerston North

The committee is set up under the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 2012, which aims to:

  • reduce harm from excessive or inappropriate drinking
  • make sure alcohol is sold and supplied safely and responsibly.

The committee decides on applications for all types of alcohol licences, as well as temporary authorities and manager's certificates.
